DOG COMMISSIONS

In 2008 I decided to expand my repertoire of horse commissions to include Dog Portraits. "Mimi" was my first dog commission. She is a well-loved, 11 year old Pit Bull. The process painting was very pleasant and the painting came out well I think. I was sorry when the project ended. In this case the client chose to have me do the photography. I gave them a choice of several great photos, and they chose this one.

My second commission was "Cooper", an English Bulldog. In this case I used a portrait taken by the owner's brother that all in the family thought was fantastic, as indeed it was. I think the painting does it justice.

"Milo" was my most recent commission - a 6 month old Golden. He has many layers of fur which took some time to sort out with varying colors and shadows. He has the slightly concerned look so common with young dogs.
