Alpha Goat is perhaps my favorite of all the animals. I worked with him for about 2 hours, in his face with my camera. In return, he pulled on my shirt, knocked my camera out of my hands and stood on his house to try to jump out of his pen. Was this for "fun", or was he expressing his nature as the alpha male? Alpha Goat is also know as "Boonville Goat" since he lives near Boonville (on Highway 128 heading towards the coast) at a gorgeous Apple Farm that has been converted to an organic working farm with guest facilities that include an excellent cooking school (The family began and owned the French Laundry restaurant in Napa for many years, so you can believe the food will be out of sight!)

Alpha goat is my most popular animal painting and I have painted many versions of him.
