Oil Paintings by Deborah Bertola

I photographed this wonderful creature at her home among 300 other milk goats at Redwood Hill Farms in Sonoma. It was a great day for my camera and me. I entered one of the pens of mainly teenagers, and found myself covered with goat curiosity. One nipping at my shirt, another my paints, and yet another chewing on my red shoe lace. A fourth had her head between my legs from behind and was bumping me along, while another placed its front hooves on my shoulder. Clearly I wouldn't be taking any photos while inside. They were intensely happy and playful. We shown around the place with great alacrity and much personal attention. A great day was had by all!
