These two ocean sceens were so lovingly painted. My friends (who I painted with in Italy) got together in Mendocino in winter to paint the sea. One friend come all the way from Michigan (and didn't complain about the extra cold days). The sea was very very active. The sky bright with subtle colors, no blue. I love skies like this; they are very challenging and so much more interesting to paint. We sheltered in a little shed in the Mendocino Gardens at Ft. Bragg. I suggest you visit there Mendocino Botanical Gardens - you will see that it is a very special place.
